THOUGHTFUL WAYS TO EXPLORE

More than a stop
along the way.

These are ideas to help you plan. Lowrance Tours can discuss transport and how an experience might fit your route. Local hosts and retreat centres set their own activities, fees, schedules and participation rules; confirm those details with them directly before you travel.

01 / FORESTS · WILDLIFE · CONSERVATION

Eco tourism in Sri Lanka

Trade busy roads for forest trails, bird calls and a closer look at the island’s extraordinary natural life.

Consider a guided rainforest walk in Sinharaja, a nature stop in the Knuckles range, or a birdwatching visit around wetlands and lagoons. Choose locally guided experiences that respect wildlife, habitats and nearby communities; access and guides should be confirmed for your dates.

02 / LOCAL HOSTS · FOOD · EVERYDAY LIFE

Village experiences in Sri Lanka

Spend time with local hosts and see a little of everyday life beyond the main tourist stops.

Depending on the area and host, a village visit might include a home-cooked meal, a paddy-field walk, a traditional craft or a demonstration of local food. Around the Cultural Triangle, ask about host-led experiences near Habarana or Dambulla. Activities, contributions and availability are set by each host and confirmed in advance.
